Kuwait’s Shuaiba oil refinery resumes operations after fire

23rd August, 2015:

Kuwait's Shuaiba oil refinery has resumed operations, Reuters reported Sunday, after a massive fire last week closed down its facilities.   Mohammad al-Mutairi, chief executive officer of state-owned Kuwait National Petroleum Company, announced the reopening on Twitter.   "The Shuaiba refinery has been restarted at a capacity of 120,000 barrels per day and all the units are operating expect those affected," he wrote on social media.   The oil facilities broke out into a massive fire on Monday, halting its production of 200,000 barrels a day, according to Reuters. Shuaiba produces more than one-fifth of the country's oil production of 930,000 barrels per day.
